I designed my first draft on publisher as I was unaware of the website pixlr I tried to copy Kerrang!s style of of using a photo of the group as the background with the writing round it and put the artists name in the top left hand corner I also kept the colour theme throughout the page keeping it very simple so it doesn't over whelm the reader. I did not feel happy with my first draft so when proceeding to start my final double page spread I decided I would choose another magazine to base my idea around.

AUDIENCE PLEASURES
Audience pleasures- What the audience wants, are a set of techniques that a magazine will use to persuade the audience to buy a magazine and to maintain that reader ship.
To persuade people to buy the magazine:
-Free gifts (I might give away free gifts with my magazine to influence the reader to buy the magazine, As its a sense of being given to).
-Interviews with artists they like.
-Talking about next months issue so it will make the reader want to buy next months.
-The content.
-The format of the magazine the look.
-Colloquial language.
-Semantic field of music.
-Direct mode of address (how the magazine speaks to the reader, personal pronouns - you,we,us)
-Imagery that will appeal to the audience.
-Competitions.
-Give information e.g. tours, charts.
-Ritual pleasure of consuming the familiar.(The people who will be buying this magazine will all have the same taste of music).
-Opportunity for self definition establish who the reader is.
