SOCIO-ECONOMIC GROUP

I think the socio-economic group is good as it categorises people, which is a lot easier to know who you would want your target audience to be for the magazine. However I don't feel like it is completely reliable for example students who don't have a job but have rich parents but they are still classed as E subsistence level even though there parents maybe in the upper middle class but their children are classed as subsistence class which isn't accurate.

DRAFT COVER

This is my draft magazine cover.

I wanted it to be close to what I want my final cover to look like. My chosen Genre is 'Indie rock' so The title of the magazine I chose was 'V!ntage' I felt it gave an indie vibe. I chose to use red, black and white as the theme throughout the front cover as it would stand out on the shelve of a shop. I put the bar code in the bottom right as I felt the reader would not really be interested in that so put it furthest away from the picture. The picture I used was black and white which goes with the theme of the front cover. I wanted to keep the front page as simple as possible to give it a stylish and classic look and to not overwhelm the reader with writing.
I used 'The UK's most obscure magazine' as my strap line as it will attract readers that don't like listening to the music that are in the charts or that everyone else listens to.
The sell lines I used were fairly simple so it makes the reader more intrigued to read the articles inside.
The look that I am going for in my final magazine cover is more like the NYLON magazine as it looks a lot more professional. I really want to try and experiment with colour and how the text is situated behind the model.

MAGAZINE COVER ANALYSIS

I decide that analysing a magazine cover would be great and I would be able to see some of the reasons of putting for example the font in black. I used a billboard cover....

I looked at some analysing that previous people had done then used some of there ideas to create this one I now think it will help me when composing my final Magzine cover to know where to put the sell lines, picture and title etc.

TECHNOLOGY

The technology that I will be using whilst creating my magazine front cover and article will be:
IMac as it offers a great range of different apps                                 which be used for writing the article to the design of the front cover.
I Phone for taking photos for the front cover as it offers a great clear photo with is easily transferred on to the computer.

Pixlr is one of the photo editing sites I will be using as it is so easy to use and fast.

I will also be using Google as I will be able to type in any information I am unsure about or a magazine I wish to look out and it is super fast and efficient.
